Badge Design WINNER

Date: 7th Jan 2020 Author: Ian Bench

In 2019 it was decided that Southport Scouts and Formby Scouts should merge to become Sefton North Scouts. This new area or District needed a new badge and logo to accompany the new name and so a competition was launched in October amongst all our youth members to find that budding artist with the best idea. The time has come to announce the winner of the design a badge competition. Congratulations to Joseph A from the 14th Scouts. Joseph’s design captures elements that are individual and shared for both Southport and Formby areas and combines them in a bright and colourful way.

While there is only one final badge there were many super designs in the remaining 246 entries submitted. The judges agreed that it was difficult to make a final choice and even more difficult to select runners up in the remaining age groups. After much deliberating the runners up are, Oliver A from the 2nd Beavers, Lucas H from the 55th Cubs and Katy S from Spearhead Explorers.

The judges and organisers, would like to say a huge thank you to all of the young people who worked so hard to create the image that will be associated with Sefton North Scouts. The physical badges have been ordered and more information will be sent out shortly.
